Do you know who carries the eggs and finally give birth?
And that seahorses are the rare invertebrates that are monogamous, they actually “hold hands” when they court, or rather link their tails together forming a V when they swim around the tank. It’s romantic to me although the author of this very informative site about seahorses mention how there are punishments involved if the female seahorse stray away or vice versa.

This is a picture from that website on how they mate. The female seahorse docks her eggs at the male’s pouch in which he carries it around as the pregnant partner. So interesting!

And this is when the male gives birth to a cloud of babies..which are really quite indistinguishable to me..Wow, I want to have a tank of seahorses now, are they expensive?
